I was thinking that I would have a sequel to my truths but that won't be happening tonight. For several reasons. One, I am so tired (after working on a ton of Wells Fargo event planning and being up since 4 am) my brain wouldn't be able to muster up some good truths right now even though I have a ton stored in a folder up there. Two, I must tell you about a huge revelation I had today and how excited I am with my new family find!
I was looking for a place to take mommy and me swimming lessons. After a simple google search, I found several places that offered what I was looking for - one being the Y. What the??? Why hadn't I thought about this before? The Y is so family oriented - of course much more so than LA Fitness! I decided to go check it out today to see what the one closest to us was like.
I loved it folks! I walked in and instantly visualized H growing up in that environment. Meeting other kids, swimming in the KICK A$$ pool (with a slide and huge water fountains to stand under - and this is the "kids" pool - there is also an adult pool), going to camp (of course these things will happen later in her life), etc. The kid care is a very nice area with a lot of options for infants. Two workout rooms, tons of classes offered, swimming lessons, a HUGE cardio and weight area, and even a family locker room. It was clean, huge, beautiful with families swarming everywhere! What a great place to bring up our family! I am so excited!
I think I am going to talk to LA Fitness tomorrow and say my final farewells. I am ready to sign up with the Y (they have a special where they will wave the $50 annual reg fee if you register before June 30). It is only $62/month which includes T and I both, as many dependents as we want and child care. They have family swim every night which is theme oriented, snacks and fun. They have a HUGE family theme night every Friday. It is just awesome and made me feel like it was perfect for our family!! I am super excited! Maybe I will meet some new mommies in the process!
That is my cool news as of now...I am super excited to have this outlet and can't wait to become a member! How fun and rewarding! Oh...and the pool! This may be a daily thing for us!
For now I am going to bolt. My eyes are incredibly heavy and even the forklift holding my lids is running out of steam. Time to call it a night and get ready for H's doc appointment tomorrow - just her 6 month well check.
Until next time...

Behold! A post!
I have been completely slacking more than I can even make excuses for (don't end a sentence with a proposition...end it with a statement in paranthesis). But tonight, behold! The entry I have been promising for so long!

The Truth About Pregnancy, Labor, Delivery & New Mom-Dom - PART ONE
Disclaimer...every woman, pregnant woman (two different things there), momma and baby are different. These are the truths that I have learned. It will be different for everyone but everyone will have some truth to share!
This is titled part one even though I don't already have sequels planned out. I just know that every day sheds light on a new "truth" that I will need to "post-it" in order to add it to my list for you. I am sorry ahead of time for the non-mommas or the boys that follow these entries. But it could be informative for later use or for entertainment value (albeit very little).
Let's begin...
1. First trimester feels like an eternity. You aren't showing, you feel yucky (either VERY yucky or just a little yucky like I did). You feel like it will never end and you want to throat punch the next person that tells you that you won't even remember the misery once you get to second tri...this is TRUE!
2. Second trimester is the best trimester. You will probably hear this from most women. You feel so much better, you are showing so you get the sweet looks and endearing comments from complete strangers in Walmart and you get more doc appointments (read ultrasounds and heartbeats). For those who want to find out the sex, you can find out in this trimester. You feel your baby move...lots of good things happen these three months.
3. Spin-off from above. We didn't find out the sex and I am SOOO thrilled we didn't!! A lot of people want to plan everything so they "must" know the sex - I was never much into pink or blue...especially when it comes to paint in a room. So we didn't need much planning. There are so many adorable neutral (but not boring) merchandise. It really is the only surprise (at least a good surprise) that you will have in your life. The other cool thing? It gives your husband a "moment." The momma receives attention the entire pregnancy, all through labor and birth. But daddy doesn't get much in the "ooh and ahh" category. I think T had an awesome time coming out and telling everyone that we had a baby girl! It was HIS moment. I wouldn't trade that for the world!
4. Third tri...the fun is still there but fading quickly...the attention increases and sometimes becomes annoying. Wow! You are about to pop! Ummm, thanks. How are you feeling? When are you due again? Haven't you had that baby yet? The discomfort increases in many ways. Pee breaks increase. Bending over to get anything...socks, shoes, your underwear...becomes a chore. Almost a work out move. Walking to the mailbox is exhausting. The movements of the baby in 2nd tri that was so incredible become somewhat painful and annoying. You begin the process of losing sleep.
5. An epidural doesn't make you weak. It makes you human. Going natural is good for some but, no matter how much you hate needles (and I am the phoboholic right here) it sure beats the HELL that is labor. If only mine would have caught up with the mega-doses of Pitocin being pumped through my veins! It eventually did but...oh momma!
6. Being induced is not the end of the world. It really is ok. It won't ruin you or your baby. Sometimes it is a medical need, sometimes it is because you want your doctor and not some random back-up doctor. Mine was a medical need (my water was leaking but I wasn't dilating) but I don't fault or judge those that have it done for scheduling reasons. It doesn't make the birth any less "natural" or "normal". There is NO such thing as either.
7. Labor hurts. Bad.
8. There is a huge phobe about pooping on the table while pushing. More than likely it will happen. And, all those who told you that you won't care?? They are right!!! Once you experience the misery of labor and they finally tell you it is time to push, you could projectile poo-poo on the nurse and you wouldn't think twice. You think I am kidding.
9. You may want a boy more than anything...watch football with them, have a momma's boy, your little man. Or you may want a girl more than anything...bows and dresses, tea parties, a princess. I tell you this...when your baby arrives...you love them more than any love you will ever know. Ever.
10. You know those people that say that your life will change when you have a baby? You know your response of...no, it won't change. I will be the same person. Those same people tell you...no, it will change. But it will be for the better! And you roll your eyes. I hate to be one of those people but it is true. Your life DOES change. No doubt about it. Leaving the house takes more planning than a beach vacation. Going out with your significant other takes weeks of planning. Your conversations go from...hmmmmm, I can't remember what I talked about before...to how many poops your baby had that day. Life does change.
But it also changes because a little life looks at you with loving eyes like you are their world. And you are. The love that radiates is something I never experienced before (remember, I never wanted kids until about 3 years ago...man, what I would have missed). Life changes but it DOES change for the better!
I was going to stop at 10 but I have one more that I feel is very important and a good one to end with...
11. It is true that having a baby may change your priorities. You may not go to the karaoke bar every Friday night or happy hour with your friends on Wednesdays. But don't forget about those friends. Most of my friends are kid-less but love my baby. But, do they want to hear about my baby all the time? Of course not. They have lives of their own and I want to know about what's going on. I think that your friends sometimes feel a little odd about asking you (with a new baby - and new can be up to a year or more) to go out and do something. It is up to us as new mommas to hold onto those relationships and make the effort! We know when we are available (around nap times, bed times, etc), our friends do not. AND I must say, it feels GREAT to go out with the girls and NOT talk about the baby, the diapers, the feedings the..."guess what baby did today??" Although my friends are awesome and love to hear all the details, it is awesome to have a girls' dinner to just catch up on life! Their life! Stay in touch is the bottom-line of this truth.
Let me know what you think about these truths so far. There are so many to come. I guess there WILL be sequels! Based on your feedback, of course.
OH and big news! My sister-in-law is making some AWESOME baby products that will be available soon online! I am really excited for her and love these products. I am hoping she will let me do a review and a possible giveaway! Paci/toy holders, sippy cup holders and many more AWESOME products. Stay tuned!
I am back, folks. Blog diva returns...until sleep prevails!

I am so thankful for my sister-in-law, Erin. She came over to distract H while I caught up on this work project as well as some house chores. Although I feel like I am coming down with some sort of head cold/sore throat, I tried to bust it out the best I could & still remain standing long enough to finish out H's evening.
I was able to get pretty well caught up on my work and actually cleaned our master bath. Wow that feels good to both do and say! I vacuumed, dusted, swept and mopped the kitchen and did a couple of loads of laundry. All in all, a very productive day (oh, and this is in addition to H and I's regular morning routine of our walk & gym time).
H sat in the Target cart with our new cart cover today. First of all, I am going to HAVE to do a review for this cart cover...it is amazing! It is SO padded and comfy...if only I could ride in it! There is a pillow that spans the width of the cart but I used it to prop H on one side. It has pockets for your wallet, phone, etc & all sorts of attachments and bands on the inside for toys, drinks, etc. I will definitely write a review & maybe I will be able to do a giveaway!
Here is my H sportin' her new ride!

I had a great friend come over last night to hang out. I felt bad because I had to do my usual H evening routine followed by the new "wake up an hour later to eat" habit. But she was very understanding and we had a GREAT time catching up. Next time, we are meeting OUT & I better be meeting her new hunk!
I am going to cut this entry short. I am starting to feel pretty achy so I may call it a night early so that I can be fresh and ready for DAY 3 of H and I's new routine! Ready for another gym journey!
Don't forget to check out my diet/exercise journey if you dare!

Product review soon and I still want to do a list of TRUTHS for new mommas! Coming soon to a lame blog near you!

The hat rack is FULL
Pop quiz...how long DOES it take to catch up on your blog??? Try three days to just write this one entry. No, I am not kidding.
I must say that my hat rack is full! I am juggling more hats than I have heads for. If you are thinking of giving me a hat for a gift, please decide on a gift card instead! I have no more room on the rack!
Between H, laundry, house, pets, a shower here and there, and T being out of town a lot, I am pretty much overwhelmed with tasks. By the time I have a moment to write something on here, I am so tired I am seeing two of everything. But not tonight. I am going to finish tonight and I am going to find a way to continue my most interesting thoughts on a daily basis. Even if it is just a quick hello to let you know that I made it to the top of the hat pile.
Like I mentioned, T is out of town a lot right now. It is part of his job and part of a job that has and IS treating us VERY well! I can't complain! So I don't. But it is hard. And it is lonely. But H and I are a great team and this just makes us even stronger.
The house...well, the housekeeper has come once and, even though it was quite amazing to have a deep cleaned house...it wasn't as great as I could have done (T was right, he knew I would be that picky). So we have an alternate plan...or should I say, I have an alternate plan. I have my step-SIL coming over on Wed to watch H while I deep clean and get caught up on my work project as well. I love this option because I can bust it like I know I can while I am right next to H (and H is entertained!).
There are other hats - caring for our furry babies, laundry, dinner, freelance project (yay for consistent paychecks again), etc. But that is nothing but a bore and will take up more time than my energy will allow.
But, hey mommas, here's something to ponder...do you think that "healthy" fast food joints with no drive thrus understand that they are completely losing the baby momma audience?? When I am out & about with H and lunch comes upon us, I look for a healthy fast food option WITH a drive thru! You?
I visited the Kids' Club at my gym today. Not bad. Not GREAT but not bad! I think H and I are going to try a new routine tomorrow & hit the gym. I am excited for her to have more interaction with people "outside" the family. More outside socialization. I think that is SO important. And I will have MY time!! Yes, you heard that right...MY time!! Momma time! I am ready to sweat like a horse and stink like a mule! Bring it!! I am ready for my pre-pregnancy body. Screw that! I am ready for a better body than THAT!
As for H, we are working on the solids - not going all that great but I think it is my bad timing...or she just isn't ready yet. I made her a very yummy sweet potato tonight that didn't make it very far. Even mixed with her cereal. It smelled so good I was about to take her small spoonful myself but then I remembered it was mixed with her soy formula. No thanks.
I am ordering some homemade baby food storage trays tonight. I am so excited about making her food! I mean, even the sweet potato was easy and it worked like a charm (other than her interest). I am ready to experiment with more when she is ready. But I will let her take her time.
She is also eating a ton at night but STILL waking up about an hour after I put her to bed to request more to eat. I really don't know what to do about that.
So, being here without T but with nugget makes me want to give a HUGE shout out to those single moms out there. I just...I don't know how you do it. I just don't. And H is such a great, easy baby. I am just humbled. Absolutely humbled.
I guess I am out of brain cells (that are still awake at least) so I will have to sign off. Will you still love me if I promise to make my entries better and better each day? Ok, that is a huge goal. But, for you, I will TRY!
Thank you for your patience! I am out!
