The Housewife's Brood

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

I am a bit blank today on what to talk about.  My MIL came by for a visit this evening so I started my updates a bit late.  And you know how I am around this time of night.  And, just a preview for tomorrow...I am meeting my BFF, Amy Lou, for dinner tomorrow night (T is hanging with H!) so I may be skipping entries tomorrow.

But I saw this poem and thought it was perfect for us mommas (stay at home or not) that get a bit overwhelmed with baby, house, wife, work...this puts some of that in perspective.

I hope my child looks back on today
and remembers a Mom who had time to play
There will be years for cleaning and cooking
But children grow up when we are not looking
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
Cause babies grow fast, we learn to our sorrow
So settle down cobwebs, dust go to sleep
I'm cuddling my baby, and babies don't keep

'Nuff said.  Of course...if you know me well enough...you know I still HAVE to have a clean house.  But this is definitely a good perspective and one I will try to see when I am feeling the anxiety of a bowl in the sink or a hair in the tub.

Goodnight!  I will be back on Thursday!  Maybe I will do my exciting REVIEW and GIVEAWAY then!!  You won't know unless you stay tuned!  ;)

Oh I so needed to hear that poem, even if I didn't want to! Thanks for the reminder. I did watch a movie with my kids tonight, at least I was not working all day!
Great to catch up on your blog!
