Well, I am back, my loyal fans! I have blown the dust off of the keyboard and wiped the cobwebs off of the monitor so that I can bring you more exciting stories of my *exciting* life! Ha! I know you have been going through withdraws.
I tell you this...between a 6 month old, a 6 year old, a house that seems to get bigger and bigger when my chores stack up, dinners, grocery trips, Wells Fargo event, trip home to see my family and now the gym...Father Time needs to hook me up! I am in desperate need of a few more hours a day. And maybe some of those sugar bowl energy drinks could help me when the magical 9 pm sleepy hour hits me square in the face.
But I am wiping the sleepies out of my eyes to entertain you with yet another useless entry just so that you don't give up on me. I'm still here and I am *fierce*! HA! Ok, that is definitely the sleepy talking.
Our trip to Louisville was wonderful. I always LOVE seeing my family and my hometown. I have said it before (ad nauseum) and I will say it again...it is like a huge hug everytime I go home. Even though there was slight drama at one point (or two), we looked past it and enjoyed our stay. H did great on the plane heading there but wasn't so thrilled about it on the way back. I actually think she was congested and, travelling as much as I did for work for so long, I know how painful it is to be on an airplane when your sinuses are stuffed full of boogs! No fun! H agrees!
We took Tay to Churchill Downs for some good ol' Kentucky horse racing. The girl has a knack (I swear she has some of my blood in her...not sure how that happened but I think it is there) for the races. She would bet on a horse only after seeing the entire field of mares. And she won. $75 for the day, to be exact. Only a cheater, cheater would bet on the horses that the little rookie was betting on...but I did. Along with her fantastic bets and a long shot that I chose for name only, I came out $175 ahead. A good day, no doubt about it.
After looking at pictures of our visit and after seeing myself in some pretty bad angles and light in the guest bathroom at my Mom's as I entered the shower, I hit the ground running (literally) when we returned home. Gym time! I am watching my caloric intake, working out at the gym (day 1...again) and selectively enjoying adult bevs on weekends only (this is really hard since T enjoys our nightly bev together - but I must resist). My motivation is that I will be living in my bathing suit a lot this summer...the Y has an amazing pool that we will probably enjoy most weekends (and maybe during the week), I am starting swim lessons with Ms H tomorrow. They are twice a week for five weeks...then we can sign up again. And my good friend just had a pool installed in her backyard that is gorgeous! We are heading there on Saturday for a BBQ. I won't be at my goal by then but you get the idea. You can come follow my progress by clicking on the button below.

H is amazing. She is doing something new everyday. She started doing "mamamama" and "babababa". We thought her "mama"'s were only babbles but we are actually thinking that she is starting to associate it with me now. She reaches for me (especially when upset) and says "mama." A girl can dream.
She is sitting up on her own pretty well now. We have been trying to get her excited about solids but it is slow going. I can say that I am LOVING making her food, though. And WOW the savings are incredible!! One sweet potato yielded 30 oz of puree! I have these awesome containers and ice cube trays that I am using to freeze the food. I am loving the process. I want to stick with making her food because a) it is cheaper (a lot), b) I don't want her to try jarred food and then not want homemade, c) I know what she is eating (I try it and it is yummy), d) I can season it which, according to our pedi, will help her be more open to different tastes as she gets older and e) it is fun and totally rewarding! Now if she would just have more fun with it!
Well, I am sure there is a ton more I could catch you up on but I should sign off so that I can update my other blogs. But dont' go far! Coming soon...an EXCITING review/giveaway of a product no momma should be without! A perfect teething companion!
Also coming soon...more momma TRUTHS!
Stop and give me some love! And don't forget to check me on FB and Twitter.
