Let's start with my near collision, however. This morning, on the way to the gym, I was in the left lane of a two lane road (Grant). I was going through a light at a steady pace while the right lane began stalling because a city bus had stopped at a bus stop. This is nothing new on Grant. There are buses all over that road. That is typically why I stay in the left lane - to avoid as much stop and go as possible.
Well, I guess the lady in the right lane behind the bus did not see me (and the other three cars that were riding my tail) in the left lane. She methodically and slowly pulled out of her lane...and almost right into me! I had to literally LOCK my brakes up and swerve to the left...which had a large pickup truck in the turning lane. Either I, or someone else, honked the horn at this crazy lady. But she really didn't seem all that fazed! I, however, was pretty shaken up. I have no idea how we did not collide. I really don't. It was pure luck and maybe a little of my maneuvering skill.
Once I got to the gym I was a bit more calm and ready to try out my new shoes on the treadmill. Well, the shoes are GREAT but my knees are NOT. Here is a piece of advice from a procrastinator like me...if you procrastinate, you will hurt more in the long run! I procrastinated getting new running shoes and now my knees are beyond trouble. I was almost at a mile when I had such large tears in my eyes, I just had to stop.
See, my problem is that I will push myself to extreme limits. I will make myself run even if it hurts - almost like I am punishing myself...my body...so I keep going and take the pain. So, if I actually stop because I can't take it anymore, you know that is some intense pain I am talking about.
The problem was, I hadn't really worked up a sweat in a mile. So I hopped on an elliptical machine. For those who aren't sure which machine that is, here is what I was on:

Anyway, I did 20 min on the elliptical doing the "fat burning" program on level 5 or 6 (I can't remember which level now). I was really upset that I wasn't running but I didn't hold on to the bars on the machine and, instead, moved my arms as if I were running to add to the cardio. Little did I know that, once home and working on my projects, I would have a sore behind!! Yay! That's awesome. I mixed it up a little for my body and it responded with some healthy soreness. This might be my cardio of choice until my knee heals. Other than that, no real stories from the gym today. I kept my eyes and head down while entering the locker room to go pee so I saw no evil today...and no rodeo queen!
After my turkey BLT at home, I went right into my projects. I busted out hard on the crap room. I accomplished everything and MORE that I wanted to in that room! I still need to vacuum but it looks...more vacant! There is still furniture in there and other storage items that I need close by. It is also home to my germinating seeds (that sounds dirty...and I don't mean potting soil dirty). One day I would love for this room to be the baby nursery. But, until that time, it will be my plant nursery! The only difference is that we eat those babies! Here is a shot (I unfortunately don't have a before pic but just imagine CRAP all over the floor and unorganized in the closet) of the newly cleaned and organized "nursery".

There are still pics (as you can see) that need a place to call home. I am looking for the perfect wall so, in the meantime, they are stashed next to the "desk". My sewing machine is still in here and will be unless it needs to change to a room for a little one.
And the office. Remember this?

Now it is this:

My "area" is on the right side. Here are my craft cabinets that are in the closet right next to my desk area:

I still have a little cleaning to do in here and some hanging of more pics but it certainly has come along.
Last night, I organized the medicine cabinet above the stove. I used bins from the dollar store to organize meds according to their function. That way, we can just pull the bins that we need instead of all the meds being piled on top of each other where we can't find anything. I also found a lot of expired meds that I threw away. Now we know EXACTLY what we have and don't have. Take a look:

And, my other project that I actually didn't think I would get to today was the laundry room. Again, no before pic. But the area between the hamper and the washer was packed full of plastic bags and newspapers...not too sure why. I added the flowers in the vase to add some color and "prettiness" to a room I am in a lot. And, above that, a wood burning that my very creative Dad did for me. There were multiple bottles of the same product on the top shelf so I consolidated them to clear off space. To the right of the vase will be more paper towels after my shopping trip Friday! There is a white board on the wall to the left but it has been there for a while. We usually write T's travel schedule or anything else we need to remember. But most of that stuff goes on the white board calendar in the pantry too. Anyway, here is the "updated", clean and organized laundry room.

On top of that, I finished all of the laundry (other than my workout clothes today). I feel pretty caught up and in good shape for the week ahead. I have a checklist in my head of the things I want to get done before T gets home. I will probably write it all down tonight so that I am sure to get it done.
They say it may rain in the next day or so and it is supposed to get cooler for the weekend - high 60s, low 70s. That will be PERFECT for T's arrival! I see a beer Sunday on the horizon and I cannot WAIT! I talked to him tonight and he was having a cigar and glass of wine on his hotel room balcony in Monte Carlo. Don't cry for him Argentina. Boohoo...hard work, blah, blah! Haha! No, he is seriously busting butt out there and taking names. Makes me so proud.
Well, I am off to cut coupons from the Sunday paper. Confused, are ya? Yeah, I left the paper in the trunk of the car Sunday. I stuck it in there so that I could put the top down. I just found it today. So I am going to cut those coupons and make my to do and my grocery list. Then I will be chilling for the rest of the night. I did a lot today and feel more than ready to take a load off the ol' domestic diva feet!
So the excerpt tonight from my awesome "Girl Talk" book given to my by Amy:
Two women from, what looks like, the late 40's/early 50's era are playing tug of war with a large rope. You can only see the two of them pulling as hard as they can, their faces strained. The saying: Sometimes it takes teamwork to pull a guy's head out of his butt.
On that note...buttin' out!
