I (and you) should be so proud of me. Even with a new onset of jet lag and complete fuzziness in the ol' noggin, I still pulled myself up by my sneaker strings and got my increased J Lo into the car to drive an hour to the gym. I will be honest. If it weren't for the fact that I missed my friends - specifically Amber - I probably would have procrastinated and got back into the madness AFTER Thanksgiving. But I went...and I conquered...well, sort of.
I ran with Amber for about a mile, did a few ab workouts...until we realized we had a lot of catching up to do and it was hard to talk and count at the same time...that's when we decided to do the stationary bike so that we could sweat and catch up at the same time. It was so good to see her. And, even though I could tell it was going to be a tough night at the gym for my vacation ladden muscles, I was so glad to be there - back on familiar turf.
After an hour of cardio and just hanging out, we both took the one hour weight class. I used the same amount of weight that I had used before heading around the world. Amazingly enough, it was like I was lifting a dead body over my head! Seriously!! What the...??? I mean, how - in three weeks - can my muscles lose so much umph?? I am sure I was making some crazy faces as I forced my body to cooperate and lift the *&%% weight!!
Driving home, wow, I was so tired. My arms felt like fresh pasta coming out through a pasta machine. My legs felt like someone filled them with jello. And I was so tired. Just drained...tired...fuzzy. I talked with T most of the way home just to help keep my eyes open.
Here I am...freshly showered, full of left over chili and comfy in some jammies. I was wanting to get some more photos on here for my ever faithful fans. I was going to insert them into the corresponding entries however I feel that may be a mess and more trouble than it is worth. Therefore, I will be posting pics over the next several days with captions so you know what you are looking at.
Happy viewing:
One of the beautiful sunsets we experienced in the Whitsunday Islands
G. Roam our Gnome enjoying twilight
Dreamer at sunset
Dreamer waiting for us to return from the islands
Crazy hat lady and Huck Finn exploring a deserted island
A glance at the marina from the eyes of Dreamer
Marina Tavern - many beers and wedges had here while we were docked. We came back to the marina every three days or so to replenish supplies (you know what I mean...)
Big fish of the sea - he was behind our boat at Butterfly Bay on Hook Island. He is obviously a fan of the human who throws bread
So he was obviously a fan of ours!
Another self taken photo of the "awesome" us! Haha!
My handsome Huck!
A new kind of snorkeling - we could see the coral soooo well from Timmy our amazing tender!
Our sailing canvas...
At the helm and ready to sail!
The marshes at Turtle Bay
Exploring Turtle Bay
A peek down the bow

Such different wildlife in the southern hemisphere

Turn your head and see a wild cockatoo - they are indigenous to the area as well as lorakeets, parakeets as well as the usual seagull

Good news travels fast!
