So this is jet lag...

Well, I thought I was out of the woods when it came to the cliche "jet lag" that one gets from flying around the world in a day. I felt fine Thursday when we first arrived home and stayed upbeat and on schedule over the entire weekend. Even keeping up energy with a four year old. And I can hardly do that on a regular day! =]

Something happened last night, though. The strangest thing. I ended up dozing off and on while lounging on the couch last night until right around 10 or so and then I was wide awake! As was Todd. We watched a total chic flick - The Prince and Me - which I thought would, for sure, be just the right lullaby. No such luck. We ended up going up to bed around 1:30 or 2 still with our eyes peeled back. We finally forced ourselves to sleep around 3.

Today I am certainly dragging and feel like I am some interesting narcotics. Everything seems a bit fuzzy but somehow my feet still move one in front of the other as if I am on autopilot. I got up with Todd around 8:15 - which is severely late for me - and headed downstairs to start the day. I actually accomplished a lot, even with my head in some thick storm clouds. My biggest priority today was to get the laundry done and the suitcases put away. Well, consider it done.

Tonight I am heading to the gym to get my butt sorely kicked. I am a tad worried that I will miss a beat on the treadmill and end up face planting on the floor behind it. Amber will most certainly be there tonight to not only be my friend but to be my competition as well. But I am sure I won't be much competition for someone who has been to the gym probably almost everyday versus my three week vaca! And the concern once again sets in...and there's another yawn.

I don't even know why I am bothering with another entry. I am sure, after the excitement of the Australia trip below, my entries now will be no more than boring pieces of poo floating in a sea of words. But if life was truly exciting as it was on vaca everyday, I would die from exhaustion!

And here I am falling asleep at the keyboard - that exciting. Wow. Look out! Well, off to get my shoes on and head to the gym. I haven't driven so long, should be interesting to see how I do. I will have to use Todd's car because my wonderful battery is dead. Just another exciting adventure that I will be sure to write about next time.

Toodles!
